How to test the air conditioner motor

With the development of technology, almost all families have air conditioners. Among them, the air conditioner motor is generally referred to as an "internal fan" and "external fan," There are two types of AC and DC, and the testing methods are also different.

air conditioner motor

1. Indoor PG air conditioner motor detection.

PG air conditioner motor means that the conduction angle of the SCR controls the motor speed. Instead of being controlled by a relay. The ordinary motor has three windings corresponding to high, medium, and low speeds by controlling different relays to power the corresponding windings to adjust the wind speed. The PG air conditioner motor has only one set of windings, and the speed conversion is achieved by controlling the motor's supply voltage through the SCR.

(1) Wiring: whether the input and feedback terminal wiring is loose or poor contact.

(2) input voltage: use a multimeter AC voltage file to test the voltage at the motor's input should be above 50V.

(3) running capacitance: power off the test fan running capacitance value is normal.

(4) winding resistance: power failure test between the winding resistance value. The normal value should be in a few hundred ohms.

(5) motor jamming: hand rotation bearing is smooth.

(6) PG air conditioner motor feedback signal: test the voltage between the signals with a multimeter DC gear, the normal value of about 2.5V.

(7) PG air conditioner motor alone on the power test: the above method can not determine whether the fan failure, without a load, not connected to the controller, connected to the fan capacitor alone, passes into the 220V AC test.

2. Outdoor AC air conditioner motor testing.

(1) wiring: whether the input and feedback terminal wiring are loose, poor contact, or wiring sequence error.

(2) input voltage: test the AC input voltage is normal.

(3) operating capacitance: power off the test fan running capacitance value is normal.

(4) motor jamming: whether the smooth rotation of bearings by hand.

(5) winding resistance: the resistance between the three lines two and two, generally a few hundred ohms, otherwise open circuit, to determine the fan coil burned.

(6) separate power test: the above method can not determine whether the fan failure, without a load, not connected to the controller, connected to the fan capacitor alone, the brown, black line between (inverted electrical box for the white, black line between) pass into the AC power supply for testing.

3. Indoor and outdoor DC air conditioner motor testing.

(1) 5 lead wires plugged into the indoor/outdoor unit main control board. The main control board program controls the motor speed. Due to the use of closed-loop control, the motor speed is very stable. The main board will display fan-blocking protection when the feedback signal detects the low speed.

(2) DC air conditioner motor failure can be divided into internal causes and external causes. Maintenance adheres to the principle of external causes first and then internal causes. Internal causes include broken coils, short circuits, damage to the built-in driver circuit board (such as the built-in filtering aluminum electrolytic capacitors in the driver board), etc. External causes refer to the damage to the main control board, voltage protection, such as output signal command error or speed signal feedback circuit failure, and its protection.

(3) DC air conditioner motor failure test method.

a) Direct measurement method. Use a multimeter to measure the voltage value of the main control board and the motor lead end plug, and pay attention to the use of DC gear. Or test the red, white, yellow, and blue to black (ground) resistance. If only a few K or the resistance value is smaller, the motor damage can be determined, the normal value of tens of K or hundreds of K.

(b) operation test method: the DC regulated power supply, the motor 5 leads according to the value listed in front of the direct application of direct current. Take care not to connect the wrong line color. Observe whether the motor runs normally. Please turn it on according to the following steps.

①VSP to 0V.

②VCC power into the motor.

③VDC power into the motor.

④Adjust the input VSP voltage to make the speed rise to the desired value.
